Interactive Fiction in the Classroom
Hi there! My name is Peter Worthington and I'm a teacher at Samuel W Shaw School in Calgary, Alberta. We love our tech here at Sam Shaw, but something that a lot of students love even more is their video games. To marry the two, I decided to teach my class how to use the TWINE tool (found at twinery.org) to create their own works of interactive fiction and to take their first steps into the world of game development. Our first project began in May of 2015 when students were asked to create a project where players have to take on the role of a wetland organism as part of our science class. There will definitely be more to come, so we hope you enjoy following along as we work on our writing and game designs!
